Danish
seat cord is a strong 3-ply seat cord used on Danish type chair
seats. It is imported from Denmark exclusively by Cane & Basket
Supply. The cord is available in two distinct textures, laced
and un-laced. Danish
seat cord is kraft brown in color. It is 1/8 in diameter. There
are approximately 180' per pound. The cord is sold in 2 lb. coils
and 10-12 lb. spools. 2 pounds are required for an average size
chair seat. We recommend the book Danish Seats for Chairs.
Danish Nails
These L shaped nails are fastened to the inside of the chair frame
of Danish Chairs that have
Danish Cord Seats. The Danish Cord is looped around
these nails in order to change weaving direction. Not all Danish
chairs require nails.
Note: If you are redoing your chair
that require Danish Nails, it is not necessary to remove them
- just loosen the nails to remove material.
